The Davenport Noon Optimist Club is proud to serve
Quad City area youth
|
Our club, chartered in 1940, is one of Iowa's oldest established Optimist Clubs. We provide financial assistance and recognition during programs designed to improve lives. We raise over $150,000 annually through our two largest fundraisers, the Avenue of Flags program and Christmas tree sales. Although we are part of an international organization, we govern independently. We determine which projects to complete, which organizations to support and how funding is distributed. We are fortunate to have a nonprofit foundation that will continue our legacy for generations. |
We gather for weekly luncheons and invite speakers to introduce their programs and explain how those programs improve the lives of area youth. The luncheons offer the opportunity to network and build relationships with other members of the community. We volunteer at events and activities that boost young people's confidence because giving time to help improve others makes a difference. We meet socially because we love having fun together and enjoy the opportunities created through this fellowship of proactive people with positive mindsets. |
"Optimism isn’t just a feeling—it’s a way of life. As Optimists, we celebrate the power of positive thinking and the small actions that can make a big difference."
